The structures, which followed English design books, were built by enslaved craftsmen who adapted the plans to suit the tropical climate. See sites such as the William Knibb Memorial High School, alma mater of Usain Bolt (the world fastest man). Also the Falmouth Parish Church which was Built in 1795(also known as St. Peter’s Anglican), it is the oldest public building in the town.
